Description
Dupont Classique dyes can be used on animal based fibers such as silk and wool. This means they are not applicable to vegetable fibers such as cotton. To dye something you add 1-5% of vinegar to water in such quantities that you can submerge the entire project. You then let the wool be in the warm water for a while and then add 0.5 – 15% of the weight of the product of Dupont Classique dye. E.G. for 100 gram of fiber you add 15 ml of dye. Slowly and carefully stir the mixture for a nicely equal coloring. To fixate you can either let the project simmer (but not boil) for 20 minutes or you can take the project out and put it for 4 minutes in the microwave at 600 watts. Afterwards let your project cool down gradually. As always; these instructions are indicative and it is always advisable to do a test before dyeing bigger quantities.
