Carded fleece is a fluffy blanket of wool, straight from the carder. It is useful for spinning, needlefelting or wetfelting. A cardfleeces differs from wool roving in that its fibers are not combed into a straight roving yet. It is made out of european merino wool and is 27 micron.

Carded fleece can be pulled appart to create nice tufts of wool for spinning or felting. It is also usable as a base layer for felting wool pelts. The fleece is then felted onto the pelt creating a new “skin” for the pelt. 1 kilogram of fleece is around 2×2 meter. Due to the fluffyness the thickness varies. If you push it inwards it becomes a layer of about 2 to 3 cm thick.
