Tiroler Carded Fleece – 101 Natural Brown-Black

This fleeces is produced by a family company in South-Tirol in Italy. The wool is washed without any harmful substances and dried in the open air. This way the wool keeps its fattyness. The wool is carded on a 100 years old carding machine that is meticulously maintained by the family. It is great for felting and is also a sustainable choice. Carded fleece can be pulled appart to create nice tufts of wool for spinning or felting. It is also usable as a base layer for felting wool pelts. The fleece is then felted onto the pelt creating a new “skin” for the pelt. 1 kilogram of fleece is around 2×2 meter. Due to the fluffyness the thickness varies. If you push it inwards it becomes a layer of about 2 to 3 cm thick.
