Description
Savon de Marseille, a traditional hard soap from the region around Marseille, France, has been produced for around 600 years. This artisanal soap is made using only natural ingredients such as soda, sea salt and vegetable oils, with a minimum of 72% olive oil, resulting in a distinctive light green colour. The hand-cut and air-dried 300-gram blocks are unscented and bear stamps with weight indication and olive oil percentage. Savon de Marseille is an essential aid for wet felting, as it opens the scales of the wool, making it easier for the fibres to interlock and create a sturdy felt. In addition, this mild soap is suitable for washing delicate fabrics such as silk and wool, and is appreciated for its eco-friendly and hypoallergenic properties.
