Contents of the book Eco-paint

The book consists of five parts. The first three are about different painting techniques. First you learn to make paint from plants yourself (recipes). And you can see in words and images what you can do with the paint.

The second part focuses on making and using paint baths. Transferring dyes directly from leaves to fabric by beating, steaming and boiling is discussed in the third part. Then follows the fourth part in which Anja Schrik takes you into the world behind the paint. A little chemistry, botany and universal paint recipes to experiment with yourself. A list of ingredients and materials can also be found in this chapter.

In the last part, ?Step by step?, six concrete projects have been elaborated. In this part you will literally learn step by step how to make paint from cow parsley, how to marble on fabric and paper, how to extract indigo from woad plants, how to make an indigo tub, how to make pickling paint and what to do with it and even how to make prints of leaves on concrete!
