Pongé silk comes in different thicknesses. The light pongé is suitable for felting. Because pongé is more densely woven than chiffon silk, some experience with felting is desirable and it is also recommended to use extra fine merino wool.

Whoever thinks of silk usually has pongé silk in mind. This very fine, light fabric has the beautiful sheen and suppleness for which silk is known. Pongé is also ideal for silk painting, for other applications such as linings, slipcovers, blouses, wedding dresses, lampshades and even curtains, thicker pongé types are usually used such as pongé 06, 08, up to pongé 15.
