Description
What is Needle Floss?
Needle fleece is made by needling very fine 19.5 micron merino wool into a thin, airy fleece. This fleece has little strength and cohesion in itself, it is a basic material that needs to be felted further. By wet felting, you can quickly and easily make a very even and supple felt, without having to lay down the loose wool in tufts.
Large patches, clothes, decorations
Needle fleece fine is available as sheets of 60 x 60 cm and from the roll with a width of 120 cm in lengths of 1 meter or a multiple thereof.
Working with needle fleece
The use of needled fleece can save a lot of work, because you no longer have to lay out the wool yourself for felting. The needle fleece also makes it easier to felt nice regular surfaces.
Cut or cut decorations
You can also cut or cut shapes from the needled fleece (with a rotary cutter) and felt them on a surface as decoration. This can be done by means of wet felting, but also by needle felting, or a combination of techniques. With the fleece you can create beautifully sharply defined shapes. Not only on a base of self-laid wool or needled fleece, but also on silk or other open woven fabrics.
To combine
By felting two pieces of needled fleece on top of each other, you can make a sturdy felt for bags, for example. By using two colors of needled fleece, you can also make sturdy two-tone felt. Each side a different color!
