Did you know

Wool help dampen unwanted noise? This way you can focus on the sounds that make you happy. It also helps regulate the humidity of a room.

If you're worried about wool furniture, don't. Wool has a natural wax layer, think of it as a built-in stain remover. Wool also does not promote the growth of bacteria, unlike other materials, which can cause allergies. This makes wool a much healthier option.

The multi-colored pouf is a real eye-catcher in your interior with its warm colors and xxl crochet stitch.

To help you on your way to making your own wool pouf, we have made a step-by-step tutorial and a short video on how to set up the crochet.

What do you need?

Rainbow wool orange-red-grey (or your own favourite colour pencil wick!)

Amour Crochet Hook 12.00mm (Crochet hook 12.0mm)

For a footstool of about Ø55 cm you need about 1 to 1.5 kilos of space rainbow wool. We used a 12 mm Clover crochet hook. And of course you need an ottoman to make your crochet work over, which you can find at many (online) furniture stores.

Before you start:

Read the instructions carefully first. The upholstery of the pouf is crocheted in one piece. First the circle for the top, then the sides. These are crocheted without increasing. And the bottom is hooked to the whole. Close each round with a slip stitch. Lontwol is quite fragile. Do not pull the thread while crocheting, but feed it carefully. Is the wire broken? Setting up:

Here we go!

In the video we give a short explanation how to get started. Below you can see a step-by-step explanation from start to finish.

Crochet a chain of 4 chains and close with a slip stitch.

Continue as follows:

1st round: Work 6 single crochets in the ring

2nd round: 2 sc in each st, (12 sc.)

3rd round: *1 sc, 2 sc in next st* repeat from * to * (18 sc)

4th round: *2 sc, 2 sc in next st* repeat from * to * (24 sc)

5th round: *3 sc, 2 sc in next st* repeat from * to * (30 sc)

From the 6th round, divide the 6 increases evenly over the round, so that the piece is nicely rounded. Continue working until the circle is the same size as the top of the pouf. Continue without increasing for the side of pouf. When the height of the footstool has been reached, we will decrease again for the bottom. First tuck the pouf into the crochet and then continue as follows: Dec 6 pieces evenly on the next round. Keep repeating this row until there are 6 stitches left. Fasten off the thread.
